Long-delayed from it's originally May 1997 scheduled opening this simulated crash course opened in December of 1998. From faulty tires to buggy software the ride had a difficult time becoming malfunction-free. I guess it was a lemon! But now it's all green lights as you board your six-seater convertible and speed through an obstacle course that includes slick courses as well as rooms with blistering heat and biting cold. Before you become crash test dummies the ride comes mercifully to a close after claiming the enviable award of being the fastest ride in Walt Disney World, with speeds peaking at 65 mph on the wraparound finale. Must be 38 inches to ride.

If you don't mind being split up from your group in the pursuit of a shorter wait time, ask about the Single Rider line. Because the ride loads three across they are always looking for folks willing to sit alongside two strangers and you will save some serious time. Also, for those not riding, don't bother waiting outside, go hang out in the auto showroom which is indoor and air-conditioned.
