This huge "golf ball" serves as the centerpiece of the park and because of its front gate prominence and quick-loading vehicles it is also the most popular ride in all of Walt Disney World in terms of rider count. Since this is the first attraction you will encounter consider doing it last. Since most patrons will hit this ride upon entering the park the lines here are practically non-existent at night. Even if you arrive at the open you may want to skip this until the very end to take advantage of the opportunity to walk-on to other Futureworld attractions. To your right, Honey I Shrunk the Audience and Living with the Land are best to ride early before the long lines come. To your left, Body Wars will also command a lengthy wait if not ridden early.
But what about Spaceship Earth? Well the continuous-loading vehicles circumnavigate the huge globe. The ride explores the evolution of communication and is a visual winner. Jeremy Irons narrates as you slowly coast through the scenes, with a dramatic climax of a simulated starry sky at the top, before turning around and going downhill slowly in reverse. At the ride exit there are a few interactive exhibits from subtle motion simulators to family phones which are huge speakerphones where, for basic long-distance charges, you can call someone in tandem.
