Most guests at EPCOT may not realize that there's a place to get some free soda! Yes, free fizz, I said. Maybe it's the intimidating igloo frontage. Right by the dancing fountains before you head out into World Showcase you will see the "Ice Station Cool" igloo. Go in. Walk through a short icy path. You're in! They have small 3 ounce cups to fill with a variety of sodas from all over the world. Ginger ale? Watermelon? Cola? Lemon? Give it a shot. It's free!
They do change the flavors from time to time though some of them have been staples since the attraction opened. Here's the sampling of Coke products from all over the world that were being served on a recent visit:
Fanta Kolita (Costa Rica) -- Similar to the fruity cola fused Kola Champagne flavors that you will find in many Latin American countries.
Lychee Mello (Thailand) -- Yes, lychee the fruit may be an acquired taste but this is a very accessible offering.
Smart Watermelon (China) -- Sweet stuff. Kids flock to this one.
Kinley Lemon (Israel) -- Think 7-Up.
Vegitabeta (Japan) -- V8 in carbonated form? No. It's probably as unhealthy for you as the rest of the sodas.
Mezzo Mix (Germany) -- A sweet dark cola, probably not too distant a cousing from, say, Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb.
Krest Ginger Ale (Mozambique) -- Even in Mozambique they speak the Canada Dry ginger ale flavor.
Beverly (Italy) -- Uh oh! Bitter demon in liquid form!
Beware the Beverly. Okay, it's an acquired taste and some folks love the stuff with a passion. However, it is awfully bitter to the taste. Go ahead. Form your own opinion. Just don't say that you weren't warned.
